I was recently on a fishing trip aboard f/v Cat Eyes out of Gloucester, MA. Cat Eyes is 45 feet and 20 tons. Its owners Naz and Sandra are among the last few remaining small fishermen in Cape Ann.
This short presentation is a part of a larger file that contains more video and still files. If you are interested in obtaining the DVD with the full presentation which runs for approximately 30 minutes, please contact me.
Joey — Enroute to DC the intrepid crew of Ardelle D&B’d (docked and breakfasted) in Solomons, MD courtesy of Aram Neresian, owner of the schooner Heron. Aram is a generous, affable, funny, entertaining, smart fellow and a fine cook to boot. A credit to the schoonerhead class, as you like to call us. Many a schooner has been the recipient of his hospitality and there was no way Ardelle could pass by without a stopover.
I am sure Aram did his best to persuade Harold to join the upcoming Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race.

A Man Said to the Universe
A man said to the universe:
“Sir I exist!”
“However,” replied the universe,
“The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation.”
Ocean is singing and the air is clean, fall is here.

Rockport has decided institute an Outdoor Organized Activity Ban similar to Essex and Manchester.
A “Code Red” announcement will go out this afternoon to residents.
Information about the ban is available on the Board of Health website, and attached.
Outdoor Organized Activity Ban – EEE & Mosquitoes
Recently a horse in Essex was found to have a mosquito-borne disease, Eastern Equine Encephalitis. As a result, the Rockport Board of Health has decided to ban all outdoor organized activities in the Town of Rockport during peak mosquito hours (5 p.m. to 8 a.m.) effective immediately until the first hard frost.
EEE is a rare but serious illness, transmitted through the bite of a mosquito.
The Board of Health reminds all residents to continue to take the following precautions to avoid mosquito bites:
* make sure all window and door screens are in good repair
* remove all standing water from your property and encourage your neighbors to do the same
* use mosquito repellent, read and follow application instructions
* wear long-sleeved shirts and pants when outdoors, especially between dusk and dawn
* use mosquito netting on baby carriages
* avoid areas where there is obvious mosquito activity
I put a little siracchi in mine. Killer.
I’ve been wanting to go since it opened, but various circumstances have made it impossible. I’m hoping to go tomorrow afternoon!

I just picked up a 1950’s Mongomery Fish Boat that I’m going to restore and keep on Rocky Neck but I need a rig and sail for it.
Besides Dave Mongomery and the boat yard, do you have any ideas on how I could find one? Could you broadcast the request some way?
Thanks very much,
