Update Don’t Buy My Camera for $275 It’s available for slightly more than that online Selling My Camera The Sony HX9V

I posted this last night after checking the price on Amazon-

Here is the camera I’ve been using to take about half the shots for the blog this past year.  It is retailing for $379 on Amazon right now new but you can have my slightly used no wear at all except for a few tiny scratches on the back screen that are barely noticeable and in perfect working condition one for $275.

What I didnt realize is that there are other stores selling it for less money than what amazon has it listed for new.  So don’t buy my camera for $275.

Sorry, but I’d feel terrible.

email me at goodmorninggloucester@yahoo.com

It’s a great great camera.

Here it is on Amazon new-

Since I bought the interchangeable NEX-5N I don’t have the need for both.

So first one to come up with the dough gets the camera responsible for these shots-

I love my little pocketable HX9V and all the tricks it has up it’s sleeve.

Copied from some older posts-

Click photos for full sized panoramas.  Have I told y’all yet how much I love the new camera?  The Sony HX9V, 16 times zoom, killer video, panoramas in camera HDR processing and it slips right in my pocket!  The thing is the nuts!  I highly highly recommend it. DSC00288

Local Music Seen ~ first ever show on location!

On Mardi Gras, Local Music Seen with Allen Estes went to Minglewood to shoot the sold out Mardi Gras on Rogers Street benefit for Y Teens Rebuild New Orleans.  It took some time to edit all the footage and create a good show, but with the help of Cape Ann TV’s master director and editor, Lisa Smith, we finally got it done and the show airs TONIGHT at 6:30pm on Cable Channel 12.

In this video, you’ll see the complete (un-cut) version of Henri’s studio interview with Allen and a very unusual performance of Henri singing Route 66 accompanied by Allen on Guitar and harmonica.  If you want to see the Mardi Gras footage, you’ll have to watch the show (we’ll put this show in the archives soon for those of you who don’t live on Cape Ann or don’t have cable.  You’ll be able to find it here.)

After a nice hot day, you’ll want to cool off tonight at any of the six air-conditioned venues with great live music.  See the cool live music lineup here.

Lobster Pool Restaurant Father’s Day Tradition

Roasting S’mores at the Lobster Pool Restaurant

When our children were much younger we began going to The Lobster Pool restaurant for Father’s Day. Then, as it is now, The Lobster Pool continues to be a fantastic restaurant for family-style dining. Even on the busiest of nights there is never a long wait for a table and for dinner. Kids have fun exploring  the rocks before dinner and then again after they have finished and while the parents are still eating. Where else on Cape Ann can you go and see the most amazing view of the setting sun while dining casually on fabulously fresh seafood, and then have warm (free!) s’mores for a special treat?

Now in college, we met our son Alex there this past Father’s Day, after his long shift working at the Seventh Wave Restaurant in Rockport. It was late and the kitchen had closed but Myalisa  managed to come up with my husband’s favorite fish cakes and a burger for Alex.

Lobster Pool Fishcakes

The raw bar still had plenty of oysters and clams. And Myalisa’s son David was making s’mores for guests, young and old!

The Lobster Pool is open seven days a week for lunch and for dinner. Although Rockport is no longer a “dry” town, The Lobster Pool remains BYOB. Call (978) 546-7808 for more information.

Only 10 Now! This thing is selling out by the end of the day! tix left for THE GMG cigar rum cruise

Don’t be the dope that misses out. Gonna be crazy fun. Call the Lannon ticket office now.
Only fun people please. Thanks!

Who’s in for a group mooning shot?

See this guy?

I’m literally exhausted watching him work on his sailboat all day long every day. The thing might have 10 hours away from the dock actually sailing but ill guarantee he has about 5000 hours in messing around with all the parts on it.

Impressions of Ravenswood Park

The other day, a friend took me to Ravenswood Park for the first time.  Good thing I wasn’t alone, or I would probably have either gotten lost or missed out on some of the beautiful spots in the park! This is a great place to go for a walk. Just bring lots of bug repellant…

Pet of the Week- Charles

Charles Pet of the Week Cape Ann Animal Aid

Hi!  My name is Charles and I am a one-and-a-half-year-old pup.
I act like a pup, but I am a small black-and-white dog who is small and fully grown.

I am staying at the Cape Ann Animal Aid located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter, Four Paws Lane, Gloucester.

Please attend the Sunset Dessert Cruise on July 21 at Capt. Bill’s at harbor Loop at 7 p.m. Rain date on the 22. Tickets on sale soon.

Please visit CapeAnnAnimalAid.com and see photos of our new shelter, a list of items on our “wish list,” and more importantly, more photos of me.

Did I tell you enough about me?  Oh!  I am sweet and lovable and I need a little training, but I am quick to learn.  I am a boy pup who is a little Welsh Corgi Pembroke and a little Boston Terrier mix, a little bit of this and a little bit of that – like a buffet!

Maybe Alicia Pensarosa will adopt me!!

I would love to adopt Charles. He’s very handsome. I’ll have to discuss with my baby, Coconut, and see what she thinks.

Kettle Cove Fish Market

Doria and John Heath of Eliot, Maine represent curbside at Bodin Historic Photo on Main Street. John grew up in Manchester, where his family operated the Kettle Cove Fish Market, about which I posted on GMG this past Wednesday. John’s brother, Doug, still lobsters out of Manchester Harbor.

Their station wagon is a 1949 Crosley, which was sold by Sears and Roebuck. Wherever they park, people stop and admire it, as they did in front of my gallery today. One restaurant in Maine gave the Heaths dinners to park the Fish Market car in their parking lot to draw business. Doria and John are look forward to moving back to Cape Ann. BTW, they bought a photo of The Kettle Cove Fish Market.
