…he’d pulled two men out of the sea one night

…”Years ago I heard from others
how he’d pulled two men out of the sea one night
off Eastern Point. They’d not been able to shed their jacks
when the ship went over, and when he caught them
they were going down too. He hauled them into Brace’s Cove,
even though the shore wasn’t there, it was such a storm and the sea so big
it had turned the Lily Pond
into an arm of itself.” … Continue reading

We Was Robbed Part 2, No, GOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!!

I was all set to write “We was robbed part 2”. Again the refs seemed to not want the USA to advance. USA vs. Slovenia was going down as a 0-0 in the 91st minute. Both teams catch an early flight home with a tie. The United States and Dempsey had scored a clean goal early on but the hallucinagenic referees called Dempsey offsides although on replay he was clearly on and in.

And so it ground on.

On the left hand screens England was up one nil and the big screens USA tied 0-0. That added up to going home. But then in add-on time USA brings it down the middle, a pass, a shot on goal blocked (Algerian keeper was amazing all day) and the rebound came out to Donavan’s left foot and bang it was over. The Jerry Remy Bar and Grill was passing out these little soccer balls and I am surprised none went in the air or through the screens but the place went wild.

The Bloody Mary’s were served in smaller glasses today but they may have had the same amount of vodka. Nothing to complain about. 8)

One more time with gusto:

GOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!!

Fiesta Documentary by Young Entrepreneurs

Sam Hartson, and his crew of local entrepreneurs, are documenting the Fiesta.

They have been working with the Fiesta Committee, conducting interviews, photography and video taping this years Fiesta.  I spoke to Sam last night and he mentioned that he was inspired by our own Joey to take on this project.  Watch out Ron Howard.

Sugar Mag’s Block Party Dinner

Niece Amandacakes got this pan seared Scallops over Caesar.  The Scallops were huge and cooked perfectly.  It’s tough to cook large scallops perfectly because they are so big you want them cooked through but not to lose their moisture.  Missy is a pro!
