Hey everyone,
I have some great entertainment lined up tonight! Also, come see Elizabeth and Ryan battle it out for Best Friday nightBartender…
Tonight: 9:00pm John Jerome:
Gloucester’s own John Jerome has been one of the best acts across Gloucester hands down! He is well known for his talents playing along with his brother and has many reasons to be so well thought of. He has played at pretty much every local spot that plays music in town and many more. He plays a nice mix of cover songs and some of his own original music and can wow you with either.

Off to the Plough and Stars a quaint little pub in Cambridge http://www.ploughandstars.com/directions.html Going along with them will be The Boyfriends and The Inge Berge Band, all Gloucester musicians. This proves to be very good line up and anyone that has seen them all before will vouch for this. So, if you feel like venturing out and trying some place new, you will certainly be entertained. « North Shore Consortium Weekend Picks:
Written by Heather Atwood on October 20th, 2010
This post is a bow to all the brave people who pulled out their long underwear and parkas to make food, beer, music – and to just be there - at Rockport’s HarvestFest last weekend. It’s also for those of you right now saying, “wow, this is cool,” and promise to come next year.
Stroll through my thoughts and pictures, but make sure you get to the bottom where you’ll see a cold but happy bunch of bloggers from the North Shore Blogger Consortium, all of whom came out to discuss what blogging’s about – or not – to a packed audience.
Ok, that’s a lie. We mostly talked to each other, but we were a receptive audience, and learned a lot. Next year, the house will be packed.
Nee Nee – Pet of the Week
Hello! My name is Nee Nee and I am a four-month-old Terrier Norwich, purebred pup.
I only weigh about six pounds and will be small when fully grown. I am a special needs
adoption as I have a luxating patella (my kneecap shifts around), so I may
need extra veterinary care in the future. This doesn’t hold me back, I am a active
and happy girl. I have a sweet personality and can’t wait to meet my new family.
I am at the Cape Ann Animal Aid, a non-profit shelter located at
260 Main Street in Gloucester. I know many holidays are coming up soon and you can just
put me in a big pocketbook because like most gals, I love to shop, shop, shop!!!
By the way, my pretty coat usually looks very nice, but I just had a bath and
can’t do anything with it; a true bad hair day!

Last night, due to lack of grocery shopping, we decided to celebrate restaurant week and try a restaurant we haven’t yet tried. We decided on the Windward Grille in Essex.
The service was great, they have a very friendly staff, they had a lot of options on the restaurant week menu as well as their regular menu, and the portions where incredible. Â I came home with lots of leftovers and had to put on elastic waist sweatpants.
Today is the last day for restaurant week, but some restaurants may be extending it. The Windward Grille is  extending their Restaurant Week menu for an additional week.  If you know of any others doing the same post it in the comments.
Here’s my lovely camera phone shots of stuffed mushrooms and Filet with Stuffed shrimp (half eaten of course).
Click here or the photo to take you to the slide show!
David Cox will be shooting the GHS football game tonight with Thom Falzarano. This is a typical exchange between my pal David and me.
The print is 20×30 and I may hang it at Passports.

Today is just a beautiful day, and the tide was right to take a morning trip and see if there was any life outside the Merrimack mouth or along the beach. At the jetties I was greeted by the welcome sign of 50 gannetts diving followed by their huge, rocket-style splashes. I moved up slowly and watched the fishfinder. I figured Gannetts=mackerel. The fishfinder lit up with a pretty steady stream of marks in the 12-25 foot depth. I jigged for a while, but no luck.
Now “fishfinders” and I have had a poor relationship in the past. I usually found little correlation between the “found” fish and real ones. This year, though, I bought a new (used) ride and it came with a nifty new Garmin 440s chartplotter. I usually fish the flats, so the real utility has always been depth to me, trying hard to avoid the sunken jetties. But this year I got outside a lot more and started using the sounder, fully expecting nothing from it.
