The Polygroove Orchestra
The Polygroove Orchestra consists of five Rockport high school students, who, as part of the school’s music program, joined together to form a jazz combo in 2009. After working together for school performances, the group began to perform publicly and became known as the Polygroove Orchestra. They have played at a number of events and venues, including the Rockport HarvestFest, the reception to welcome the new Rockport Town Administrator, the Sandy Bay Yacht Club Lecture Series, Gloucester’s Battle of the Bands Fundraiser, the Rockport Rotary Club’s Tree-Lighting Dinner, Rockport PTO fundraisers, and a student-organized rally to support the recent town override. Their repertoire is an eclectic mix of jazz, blues, standards, and rock, and they bring a fresh perspective and youthful energy to each performance.
Band members are:
Alex Caffi – drums
Erik Lees – bass
Robin Lovell – keyboard
Alek Razdan – tenor sax/clarinet, vocals
Evan Razdan – trumpet

Sketchbook Project 2011
from Carol McKenna
In creatively thinking about how I would protect my Sketch Book for this project, it took several weeks of reflection and experimenting before I decided what I would do. My main purpose was to protect the book. My second concern was to “keep it simple”. My life can be rather complex so I didn’t need to add to the chaos that can so randomly occur. Therefore, I now have a very simple, yet “artsy” cover for my Sketchbook.
Hopefully, you will be able to see the picture as I try to figure the wordpress technique of uploading photos and what happens to them after you have uploaded them And you thought us Artists just sit around and play all day ~ HUH! ~ Enjoy.
Hugs and namaste,
This is one of the photos from the Magnolia calendar. To see more, click here or on the picture.
