      I opened your beautiful book to the pear tart pages this morning because I have been dying to try this recipe. All the recipes in the book are so perfectly timed for the harvest season. I would typically be harvesting my pears right now, but some furry little creatures have been eating both my pears and peaches. Every morning I find them half-eaten on the ground below the trees. I never made it to the Farmer’s Market for some pears today, but will this weekend.

      Every recipe in the book sounds so enticing–I am looking forward to many ours of enjoyment reading the stories and cooking from the pages of “Gifts of Gold!”
