We’re not getting regular old cotton t shirts. Working with Jungle Silkscreening we’re taking it to the next level and getting dri fit technical t shirts!
There will also be t shirts for sale at the event. Just another way to reward our competitors!
We are less than two weeks away from the most fun event you’ll have with your clothes off!
I hope to see you all there on March 16th to support your favorite Dodgeballers and or charity- Next Step. An organization that makes life better for young adults afflicted with life threatening diseases.
Big time thanks to Rick Doucette and Camp Spindrift where the event will be held. Camp Spindrift is available for rent for your corporate or family event!

A St. Paul, Minnesota native, Hedberg made a name for himself in Seattle’s comedy scene with his one-liners, non-sequiturs, and almost Zen-like paraprosdokians. His bashful stage presence was a result of severe performance anxiety, but gained him a cult following, and offers to appear in movies and sitcoms. He appeared on the Letterman show nine times. George Carlin, Dave Chappelle, Mike Birbiglia, and Lewis Black were said to be among his fans. Hedberg often joked about his drug use, and was arrested for heroin possession in 2003, in the end, it killed him.

Chelsea Berry with her Parker Fly (Joe Cardoza at left on bass, Michael Thomas Doyle at right on guitar)
A bright red Parker Fly guitar rests comfortably on its wooden stand, like a Siren luring Chelsea Berry to the rocky coast we all know is behind the stage.
Chelsea enters alone and smiles at the audience, gracefully accepting the ovation she receives before singing a note. Then she begins … a capella. No mic, no amp, no guitar, nothing but her gorgeous, powerful, soaring voice carried with perfect clarity to the Shalin Liu’s very last row by the concert hall’s perfect acoustics.
Chelsea’s loving, dramatic, musically brilliant performance of Dave Sudbury’s King of Rome brings the story to life, sending chills up my spine. If the concert had ended right then, I would have felt fulfilled. Then I wonder, when’s she gonna play that red guitar?
Migrating to piano, acoustic guitar and finally, the red Parker Fly, Chelsea Berry sings and plays her hits, accompanied by her young, enthusiastic, well-rehearsed band with grace, humor and an enchanting professionalism that endears her to her audience. This is a show. It has a beginning, middle and end, like a good story — an arc, you might say.
All through this show, the sound remains nearly perfect — even when the band barrels in, full force on her rocker Lonely being Lonely, which she takes just a tad slower than she did at North Shore Music Theatre last summer, giving it even more ironic power and guts.
After a wonderful encore of crowd-pleasing favorites (Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah and her own You Me And Mary) Chelsea invites the entire audience upstairs for a party and gathers the band for a Broadway style bow to a standing ovation.

Lots of our friends are at the after-party, including T Max, who spies sound legend, Bill Winn, having seen him only in a tiny picture from this book review T Max published in the February issue of his Noise Magazine. T Max introduces himself to Bill and then introduces me, at which point I’m thinking, what’s Bill Winn doing here? This guy wrote the book, literally, on live concert sound (you can get it here) and has engineered for Whitney Houston, Joni Mitchell and Herbie Hancock, just to name a few.
Then Chelsea comes over and gives Bill a big hug, “Thank you, Bill. The sound was great!”
We tend to bat the word “pro” around carelessly most of the time, but I don’t use it lightly, here, when I say that choosing Bill Winn as her sound guy was one of a string of highly professional musical and business choices Chelsea Berry has made of late, proving that she has earned the position of Headliner!

My only regret is that I’m doing a show at Hard Rock Live,
Orlando this week and thus will be unable to attend. Filling
in as host? The great Allen Estes! There’s a wonderful
chemistry between these two, Marina having appeared as
guest on Allen’s TV show, “Local Music Seen”.
I’ll be teaching an origami class at The Hive (on Pleasant Street) on March 14 at 7PM!
The theme this time will be Easter and Passover. I’ll post photos of some of the models we will be doing, as soon as I pick them out… I’m thinking maybe a cross for the religious side of Easter and a bunny for the secular side of Easter, and I haven’t picked out the Passover designs yet – I have a book with lots of Passover-themed origami that I have to peruse to make a good selection!
As usual, please contact The Hive to make register, so we know how many people will need supplies although one or two latecomers are fine too!
Norwegian Icebreaker heads North up the Connecticut River. As you may have seen on the news it’s been very cold in Connecticut recently; and the Blizzard of 2013 just dumped three feet of snow across the state! So cold, in fact, that the State of Connecticut had to borrow a Norwegian Icebreaker to clear the Connecticut River for barge traffic. This Icebreaker is starting near Old Saybrook, CT and working his way northward.
This photo was sent to me by a local sailor and friend of Good Morning Gloucester. Sometimes, during extreme weather, you just have to step up, strip down, and chop ice. We’ve all done that with shoveling snow, but not naked. Photo courtesy of Al Bezanson’s friend.

Giclée, great quality and good service right here in Gloucester MA. There have definitely never been so many options before when it comes to finding a good printshop. When I started making prints it was at the New England school of Photography using film. Box after box of paper and hours in the dark room. Now with digital its pick your best shots and print. I had stuck with my film shop after they went digital and was happy with what I was getting. However as different employees who knew certain kinds of jobs well started to change it was time to find a new printshop.
People are happy to tell about good experiences they’ve had with printshops so I’m happy to say that one of the best printshop I have found in New England is right here in Gloucester MA.
Cape Ann Giclée Printing. I needed prints made for client that wanted them for his office & for the Rockport Art Associations shows so it was time to roll the dice and try a new printer? Do I change my loyalties after 30 years of using the same printer? Do I flip-flop from printer to printer? Yes and no.
Time to change from my old printer and no more flip-flopping. Printing is an art combined with craftsmanship. Many printers own great equipment, but that doesn’t mean they know how to run it. The team at Cape Ann Giclée not only knows both so well it sets them apart from the others I have used in the past. Where do my loyalties lay now? Giclée, great quality and good service right here in Gloucester MA. — Brian O’Connor

Happy Anniversary Seaport Grille at Cruiseport Gloucester Yes! Can you believe we are four years old. Where did the time go. When I think back to when the Restaurant first opened, I sit amazed. We have grown so large. But not large enough to forget our roots. Our small kitchen went to a large kitchen, from three cooks to ten lines cooks, from one prep cook to five prep cooks, from one dishwasher to two. However, we know everyones name and we care for each other deeply, this is our roots. Our servers, bartenders, line cooks, host and hostess, bus persons and managers have dedicated themselves to my business values of kindness to each other and ultimately our kindness overflows onto you our cherished guest. The guest made us famous, you the guest are most cherished. We welcome you into our Restaurant and try to make it your main stay. Your home. We love you, so may I say to you our guest Happy Anniversary to you. Congratulations on 4 years at Seaport Grille.
