The best chocolate chip cookie? The one I just ate.
The longer answer: how can you screw up a chocolate chip cookie? By making it too something. Too gooey, too many nuts, too much chocolate. A chocolate chip cookie should have a slight crunch, not too dry but not soggy with chocolate either. The best are ones that can stand up to being used as spoons to scoop out vanilla ice cream from a bowl.

Nana Lib Lannon Ellis is famous for her chocolate chip cookies. Best we’ve ever tasted. The fact that they are hoarded by family members says it all.

My wife makes the absolute best chocolate chip cookies…. I’ve nicknamed ’em “Better than sex cookies”… Never had better on either account. 😉
Whenever she makes a batch, I’ll do the quality control testing. And, wind up with a chocolate chip headache.

Uhmmm, does this call for a chocolate chip cookie competition mug up or does this call for a chocolate chip cookie competition mug up! this could be huge.
Here’s what I’m thinking-
Contestants bake enough for every one to try. We place numbers in front of each tray of cookies. People get a slip of paper or ticket to place a vote and slip it into a solo cup behind each contestant’s tray.
We tally up the votes, drink some coffee, and enjoy each other’s company yet again.
Who’s with me?

My sister Susan. She brought a plateful of them to me literally within an hour of my delivering our third and last child. That plate of cookies was the best thing I’d laid eyes on in days. Not sure if she counts, since she hails from Beverly….. I guess I gotta go to Alexandra’s sometime soon!!
