There’s a soccer game?
USA came back from being down 2 nil to tie it up against Slovenia. Remy’s Bar and Grill goes wild!!! Then a hard fought goal goes through and they score to go up 3-2 with only a few minutes to play. But somehow the psycho referee hallucinates an off-side and pulls the goal back. The USA player in replay is so wrapped up by a Slovenia player it isn’t funny. And the Slovenia player is hugging him while his back is to the goal. No off-sides!
Still, a 2-2 tie against Slovenia is good stuff. Remy’s Bar and Grill right on Boylston Street behind Fenway Park. All the sliders are open on this beautiful day. The ten foot TV screens are crystal clear. A better view than the referee gets, that’s for sure. Tall icy Bloody Marys on a Friday morning is a good start to the weekend.

I’m following closely and not just because the bartenders in Remys are hot. I really would have liked to see USA make it out of the bracket and I can hear all the televisions across the United States being snapped off once they realize that USA is out because of that call.
I suppose Algeria could beat or tie England.

Back in the lab and after further dissection by the Italian Post Docs this sucks. The ref completely phantom called something and pulled the goal back so USA settles for the one point from a tie instead of three points from the win. Without something really strange happening in the England Algeria game this means that the USA is out of the World Cup because of this dumb call.
I knew there was a reason why I thought soccer, other than played at the elementary or high school level, is a really stupid sport. Great game for kids but give me the Red Sox on the radio any day over this stuff.

The ref still sucks a big wet one. Has he mentioned yet what foul he saw on the US third goal?

Well, thanks to the dismal performance of my team (England), you guys are still in it. All you have to do is beat Algeria on Wednesday and you are through to the knockout stages. Hope you do it!
Yes you were robbed, I don’t know what that referee was doing. Great comeback by the USA though, one of the most exciting games of the World Cup so far.
