Annual Dory Races Held Yesterday

The Gloucester International Dory Racing Committee held the 75th race yesterday at Jodrey Pier. Though we were only able to stay long enough for the Men’s Open, there was a fair number of enthusiastic spectators and supporters on hand from both sides of the border. Congratulations to Sam Taormina and Peter Taormina for winning the Men’s Open. And also congratulations to all the participants. It’s so nice to see this type of event held in Gloucester especially in tandem with Schooner Festival as there is so much shared maritime heritage.

  1. I am shocked and appalled that you only covered the mens’ race. What about our glorious women who also came in first. If you are reporting on the news of Gloucester at least follow-up on all of the winners and photos before going to publication. I am insulted for the mighty team of Stephanie and Stephanie. 1. I’m sorry for your shock and appallment. All winners were announced within the full post. We only had time for whatever race came first that day. I made no conscious choice to shortchange any of the participants. Many readers are glad for whatever level of recognition we can offer.
