Norwegian Icebreaker heads North up the Connecticut River. As you may have seen on the news it’s been very cold in Connecticut recently; and the Blizzard of 2013 just dumped three feet of snow across the state! So cold, in fact, that the State of Connecticut had to borrow a Norwegian Icebreaker to clear the Connecticut River for barge traffic. This Icebreaker is starting near Old Saybrook, CT and working his way northward.
This photo was sent to me by a local sailor and friend of Good Morning Gloucester. Sometimes, during extreme weather, you just have to step up, strip down, and chop ice. We’ve all done that with shoveling snow, but not naked. Photo courtesy of Al Bezanson’s friend.
