That Joey C. has a camera that can be programmed to create the most geeky expressions on people? I’ve seen him do it many times with me, and he did it Sunday with in-training GMG Blackburn Challenge contenders, Paul Morrison and Ed Collard. This is how Paul and Ed really looked – like sleek, well-oiled, finetuned contenders. And there you can see Joey, with a slightly demonic grin on his face, creating the wrung out looking Ed and port-a-potty seeking Paul shots he posted on Sunday.

Thanks EJ, you have a great eye and camera. David Cox’s lens makes me look like a whale stuffed in a kayak and Joey’s like I have to drop a load. You captured the real kayakers. Did you see us as we left leaving a wake and a rooster tail? We were smokin’.

Is Ed really going to do the challenge in that kayak?

No, Ed will be in the one I am in. He’s training in a slow boat right now. But he is showing all signs of being a natural and I’ll be chasing him around the Cape.

Joey’s camera doesn’t lie. But, I know EJ is an expert with Photoshop. How much did they pay you EJ?

Nope, I swear those are totally unretouched photos – that’s how Paul and Ed looked for real – like swans gliding across the harbor.

EJ just knows how to capture the moment and not stoop to Joey’s nod to Walnuts with the bathroom humor. I’m honored to have the great Duck King as my mentor for this training since I’ve never been in the ocean in a kayak.

Just curious – how come Joey isn’t training with you for the Blackburn Challenge? He did the Rocky Neck Plunge! I think that would make a great GMG team: Ed, Joey, and Paul, with R. Duck along to cheer you on.
