Orson Welles’ The Stranger Presented for First Time In Newly Restore HD at Shalin Liu Performance Center

Joey:

Rockport will play host to the world premiere of Orson Welles’ legendary film, The Stranger, to be presented for the first time ever in exquisite, newly-restored high-definition (HD), Sunday, Oct. 10 at Shalin Liu Performance Center.

Behind this unique premiere is local resident Philip Hopkins, co-owner of Film Chest, with offices in New York City, Bridgeport, Conn., and Rockport. The company specializes in the restoration, digitizing, distribution and archiving of older and vintage film footage – including many well-known feature-length movies and TV series – with clients that include Turner Classic Movies and American Movie Classics.

For the past six months, Hopkins and his company have been working to painstakingly upgrade and digitally-restore the 1946 Orson Welles classic in HD for the first time. Hopkins is available for interviews.
