Hi Joe,
We will be having a memorial/celebration for my uncle Frank Destino on Sunday, January 27th at 12pm at Bass Rocks Golf Club. We are reaching out to GHS Athletic Alumni and people of Gloucester who were unable to attend his services in Newton, Ma.
We are going to pass the microphone around for people to share any stories they might have. It will be informal and hopefully a lot of laughs will be shared. Happy New Year!

I really enjoy your blog and want to thank you for all of the time and thought you put into it. When you post photos of interesting food from various restaurants would it be possible to give the location? It took me awhile to figure out where “The Cave” was and I am sincerely looking forward to trying “Mamie’s ” but haave no idea where it is. Thank you, Carol

Frankie Destino was an all around great guy. He was a friend of my dad’s, Frank DeMarco. We were sitting in the GHS stands in the mid 1950’s, when he scored the winning TD, for the championship and threw me the ball. Over the years, I would see him when he was in Gloucester, and we would talk about that day, which was such a thrill in his life.
