Filmmaker Event:  On Monday July 23, at 7:30 one of my dearest friends, Lyda Kuth, is showing her beautiful and touching film  Love and Other Anxieties at the Cape Ann Community Cinema. Lyda will be there to talk with the audience and answer questions. Many artists in our community know Lyda from her other role as an arts funder. She is the founding board member and executive director of the LEF Foundation.

This French proverb is printed on T Shirts and hangs over the door at The Cave — 44 Main St.  For some reason, it took Vickie and me 3 weeks to get there, but we finally made it yesterday and boy are we glad we did.  Then we took our bounty to a friend’s house.  The best way to  enjoy good food is with good friends, each being enhanced by the other.  Check out the video to see what we got and how it tasted.

Laura, who owns The Cave, tells me she’s got a 3 year lease and they will be open year round.  Sounds like a plan to me.  Vickie and I will be in again soon.

Just as The Cave has something for every palate, tonight there’s music for every possible taste on Cape Ann from string quartet to bluegrass to rock, soul, reggae, pop, New Orleans jazz, blues, metal, singer/songwriters — you name it.  Don’t stay home.  Check the live music lineup and get out on the town!

What a fantastic start to The Harbor Loop Concert Series 2012. Opening with Inge Berge,Vincent Briguglio, Leo Ciaramitaro and James Buhrendorf. Groove was off the wall as always, with Mark Pelosi, Vincent Briguglio, Jeff Arnold, Brian O’Connor, Dennis Monagle and James Buhrendorf sitting in. So much fun, people smiling, dancing, children and aldults hoola hooping, blowing bubbles, sun shining and a sweet breeze….What a great job Frank Hawks and John Silvera did with that sound!

Thank you Bradley Royds for heading this up.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries locations in Saugus, Gloucester and Swampscott are happy to announce we will be donating 500 burgers to Reid’s Ride.  Five Guys welcomes an opportunity to support the efforts of the ride participants, and considers the donation a small contribution toward the monumental goal of beating cancer.  Five Guys supports the efforts of Reid Sacco Memorial Cancer Research Fund and considers it a high priority to support the community.
Five Guys Burgers and Fries is a family owned burger restaurant chain, specializing in handmade Cheeseburgers, Hebrew National Hotdogs and Hand Cut French Fries.  Five Guys has been named the “Best Burger in America” every year Zagats has held the annual competition, and Zagats recently awarded Five Guys the “Best Concept” award for 2011.  Five Guys was also named “Best Fast Food in America” by Travel and Leisure Magazine in 2012.

I’m reading Joe Garland’s The Lone Voyager to psyche Rubber Duck up for the paddle on Saturday. Extraordinary.

7:45AM to 8:45 AM the paddle boards to outriggers set off from behind Gloucester High School. Give the paddlers (and rowers) a shout out as they go by and that would be anywhere on Cape Ann because they go all the way around.  To help, follow the Rubber Duck Tracker clicking here for up to date real time view of where the Rubber Duck is and come on down to Pavilion Beach when the flotilla pulls in.

20×24 Canvas Print Of The Burnham House At Dawn Just Came In

I normally order 16×20 but they offered a 20×24 for only $25 bucks more so I ordered it up. It’s a pretty substantial sized piece.  The colors are ridiculous, the exact reflection of the house in the still water in front of the Burnham House is wild. As a matter of fact The Bean asked me to hold it upside down to see it from that perspective..

So if someone wants it, it’s $150 and ready for hanging.  No framing necessary (the reason everything I do now is canvas framed).
