The resentment for poor Rubber Duck I believe all stems from one of the man on the street question sessions when a West End pedestrian was asked who was the Good
Morning Gloucester mascot. Smoke came out of Joey’s ears when they answered, “Isn’t that the Rubber Duck?”
All those years of taking photos of Homie the seagull each day and the Rubber Duck gets all the glory. It’s pretty obvious who wins in the cuteness contest. She is always smiling and she doesn’t shit on your car.

I remember that video and question session now that you mention it. Maybe that was the Anatidaephobia triggering event for Joey. We never know when a random event will change our life forever.
