"Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing — absolutely nothing — half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."
Water Rat to Mole, The Wind in the Willows, 1908, by Kenneth Grahame (1859-1932) Click the picture to view his wikipedia page-
Born in Scotland, Grahame was raised by his grandmother in rural Berkshire. Although he began writing in his 20’s, his main career was with the Bank of England in which he rose to the rank of Managing Secretary. He retired from the Bank at the age of 49, and the same year published his masterwork featuring Rat, Mole, Badger, and the infamous Mr. Toad, for which he received the Lewis Carroll Award. It is a classic of children’s literature that has been reprinted dozens of times and can be seen as a play, heard as a recorded book, or listened to as a radio play. This is one of the great books to read aloud with a young person in your life.
That tomorrow is Sunday, and you know what that means? Mug Up at Khan Studio and the Good Morning Gloucester Gallery. 10:00 a.m., 77 Rocky Neck Ave.,G3. Rumor has it that Paul Morrison is bringing his (Sue’s) famous smoked bluefish pate’. I’ll be making my deviled eggs and a mean cup-a-jo, and there’s no way of knowing what someone else might bring to add to the offering. Always fun, and a great place to meet new and old friends from the blog.
Also don’t forget that Laureen Maher will be having the opening reception for her new exhibit “Brushwork” on Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

hi Joey,
We have a group which is like FreeCycle, but the local version so much more tailored to the needs of our community. Membership is free and anyone who belongs has the right to tell the others what they need (for example, someone just moved into an apartment and needs a sofa and a microwave) or what they have to give away (someone else just got a new sofa so has one to give away or they are tired of their books and want to get rid of them, etc.). This is all done for free, no money is exchanged and it helps keep stuff out of the landfills and also helps people make do in tough times or just because they are frugal and would like to use their money other than to buy "stuff". People who want to belong just send a message to capeannyankeeswap@yahoogroups.com or they can write to me directly at kirstin@sparx3.comand I will get them set up. Thanks for the help in advance!
Regards,
Kirstin Elaine Myers

I found this awesome Vintage Lisa Cobb/Saks Fifth Avenue lobster dress at a thrift store last night. I couldn’t pass it up! Originally, I wanted to add it to my online shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/Leeshalee (shameless plug), but now I’m having second thoughts and thinking of keeping it for myself! I have a Friend’s wedding in September and this dress would be perfect for their Maine Lobster Bake rehearsal dinner! Add a cute belt, strappy sandals and a September evening-Perfecto!
