From Ipswich, Lowell and two young ladies from Ireland
My View of Life on the Dock
In a very funny interview, earlier this morning, Dana & Mugs welcomed Malachy McCourt to their morning show on North Shore 104.9. Malachy regaled them with stories about growing up in Ireland with his Pulitzer Prize winning brother Frank (author of “Angela’s Ashes”), working on the docks in NY, 50+ years of marriage, meeting the Queen and the play that he and Frank wrote, A Couple of Blaguards, which you can see right down the road at Beverly’s Intimate Larcom Theatre tomorrow (St. Patrick’s Day) at 2pm and 8pm as well as Friday 3/18 at 8pm [GET TICKETS HERE]
Listen to the podcast below and join us tomorrow or Friday for a pint and some good laughs!
A flock of starlings is called a murmuration.
I’ve witnessed this phenomenon happen over the Americold Freezer in East Gloucester looking at it from the front of our dock. Â It’s pretty wild to witness. Â It seems they flock together and prepare for migration because if I remember correctly it happen in late fall.
I’ve been too busy moving to do be able to get much together for a blog post – I’m working on something about all the great places to buy 2nd-hand items in Gloucester, based on my experiences these days, but it’s not ready yet! So, here’s a photo I took two years ago, on vacation in Ireland.
