I’ll probably love the new theme when I get used to it but I’m such a stick-in-the-mud when it comes to change…

I like the new theme. It’s big, open and easy to see for those of us with aging eyes. I would only suggest that the GMG banner be more prominently displayed. Everything else got larger, but that wonderful panorama got smaller.

the reason for the switch though is that it allows us to post larger images
I havent figured exactly but the pic i posted was 600 px wide so probably 625 will work.
should make for way better image and video displaying

You gotta go custom on this with a GMG combined image / logo. The category bar is way too much – drop down option?

I love that the Search box is easier to find now but I don’t think the site looks as good. The “masthead” — the reader’s first impression — now is really busy, with tons of text and a smaller picture. I’m wondering if readers who aren’t loyal GMGers will be turned off by all that text at the top and hit “delete” without reading down the page. And I’m no designer but I don’t think the new dark gray is as snazzy as the old blue.
Did I mention I love the new Search box?
