There Is A God
Congratulations to the Texas Rangers on their AL Championship win with their $50 million dollar payroll vs the Yankees $200 million dollar payroll.
Check out the link below for some great payroll numbers comparing the teams like-
- Texas Rangers however, were at a clear monetary disadvantage against everyone; even the Giants. The San Francisco Giants payroll is 179% higher than that of the Texas Rangers; the Philadelphia Phillies payroll is 259% higher than the Texas Rangers; and The New York Yankees payroll is 375% higher than the payroll of the Texas Rangers!
- For the price the Yankees pay A-Rod, the Rangers pay 22 players and still have $3 million left over.
- The entire Texas Rangers starting playoff Rotation, Cliff Lee, C.J. Wilson, Colby Lewis and Tommy Hunter make less combined than the Yankees 15 loss – 5.26 ERA pitcher, A.J. Burnett, who didn’t even get a start in the ALDS!
Rangers Beat the Yankees! Biggest Accounting Upset in MLB History!

C’est la guerre ! I hear that Frank from Gloucester is on suicide watch and George may come back from the dead ?
Normally I would be upset about this, but the Yankees deserved to lose. dismal performance all the way, and it’s all George Bush’s fault !

I’ve been waiting for this moment for 45 years (since I was born). Amazing. And against the Yankees–even sweeter. Of course now I worry that this will take the fun out of being a Rangers fan;-)

I was worried about this too when the Red Sox first won the World Series. Don’t worry funkyfresh, there is no let down. Go beat the Giants then get the whole DVD pack that will come out covering the march to the Championship by the Rangers. It will keep you warm in the winter.

I wonder what GB has to do with this to the positive. If I remember the Rangers were in a dismal state financially as the season began, It was the “Ryan Express” (Nolan Ryan) who packaged a deal to keep them going. Also, if speaking of large payrolls, were not the Rangers responsible for the Frist big A-Rod Package? It was a 10 year, 1/4 billion (252 million) dollor contract in 2000.
