What are your thoughts on the newly released Macbook Air?
Looks pretty sweet.
I’m wondering if it has enough power to edit videos and photos with ease.
The one I’d want is the 13 inch with a 4gb RAM upgrade. In that configuration it comes in at $1399- a little too steep unless I sell a whole lot of photos.

I’m getting the smaller 11 inch with a 128 SSD Flash drive. That will make it quite speedy and instant on.
For photo and video editing the SSD option might be a big deal. Depends on how the program keeps track of edits. If it does a lot of saving to disk it could be a big deal.
Garage Band 11. This one goes to eleven.
ps. if you get it buy the minimum RAM and get the Ram elsewhere. Much cheaper. If you have an SSD drive the 4GB Ram might not be needed. (You have your entire drive in “memory”. Better to wait and see. Buy later is always cheaper with RAM.
