I took this series after Tuffy and crew braved out the horrible weather to get the day in lobstering on Wednesday.

Here’s a before and after picture of Tuffy after a day of lobstering.  We just finished lowering bait down onto his boat The Degelyse and took this picture.  Note the how clean his white shirt is in the before picture.

The reason his shirt is all dirty particularly in that spot under his arm is because that is where his oilskins don’t cover his shirt and the line from the pot trawls come up over the rails and with it sling mud and stuff all over the place as it comes through the hauling block.

You may remember Tony Gross from his pictures in the Boatyard-

or when he chopped off the tip of his finger and became a “cull”

Well the other day Tony was hauling lobster traps and off his gear fell a seahorse which are pretty rare to catch up in our waters. His lovely wife Abbie sent us the picture-

Hi Joey, here’s a photo of the seahorse that came up with Tony’s trawl

excerpt-

Eight-legged, with 21 body segments and a brain the size of a grasshopper, a lobster inhales through its legs and exhales through its head, extracting oxygen on the way through its gills.

Lobsters can smell. While officially they don’t "hear," it is said that traps are usually empty on July 5, leaving many to believe lobsters hear enough to hide from the fireworks the night before.

Lobstering is the oldest continuous business in Massachusetts.

Sean Gives Back To His Gay Fans

Last summer Sean aboard the Degelyse did a swan dive off the roof here at the dock in his jock strap.

What some people probably don’t realize is that the photos you see here are actually hosted on a picture hosting site called Flickr.  On Flickr you can do searches for just about anything and up pop results in the form of pictures.

So evidently many gay guys  do searches for jockstrapped men and up pop photos of our boy Sean.  The reason I know this is because I receive email alerts when someone marks one of my photos on Flickr as a favorite.   Every other day or so Sean’s jockstrap photos get favorited by someone and I get an email alert.  He has developed sort of a cult following in the gay world which he is very proud of.

Here he is in this video with a promise for all of his fans-

Something for everyone here at GMG!

Enjoy boys!

John Todd And The Mighty Tir Na Nog

John Todd lobsters on the Tir Na Nog.  It’s a tiny boat that rolls around like an empty chlorox bottle being tossed around in the sea but John get’s it done aboard the Mighty Tir Na Nog nonetheless.  Everything aboard the Tir na Nog is tiny except for the skipper- John Todd.  I’m not exactly sure how he fits in the pilot house of the boat, being hunched over all day doesn’t sound like a whole lot of fun.

The meaning of Tir na nÓg is "Land of Eternal Youth." From an old Irish legend, Tir na nÓg was a mythical island off Ireland’s West Coast where its inhabitants remained forever young.

Johnny has been going out more regularly than any other lobsterman in our fleet this year. The fisherman who goes out most consistently holds the “Ironman” title and so far this year Doc is the Ironman.
