Spring Scallops — pat morss

People here are focused on the short April scallop season, but spring continues in other ways too.

The fleet, mostly down from Maine and New Hampshire, is headed in and out 24/7.
‘Kingfisher’ landed her catch at Cape Ann Lobstermen in East Gloucester.
At the pier, the gear looks pretty complicated.
Shucked and bagged scallops are weighed for payment.
Then packed in ice and loaded indoors for processing.
The parade continues during the night.
Meanwhile the Mallards are mating on Niles Pond.
The male celebrates with quick laps around the mother-to-be.
Five of our deer overpopulation prance across the road.
Is this how high they can reach at dinner time?
It’s spring, so why not a few more snow showers a week into April?

Devasting Fire Family needs

Thank you Alana for updating with regards the terrible fire.
Our neighbors have just lost everything in a fire. I’m reaching out see if I can help gather some clothes and supplies for the next few days.
If anyone has some clothes or necessities you can share or were planning on Second Glancing: the Mom is a size small/2/4 ish; Size 6 shoes— Dad is a l/xl kinda guy, size 12 shoes — their son is 12, he’s probably a kids large or a men’s small; size 5 shoes.
I’m working with the fabulous folks at Magnolia Library and Community Center who will be hosting a temporary drop site to get donations in one place for the family. Their hours this week are: Tuesday 12-4, Wednesday 9-3, Thursday 12-4. I would love to consolidate drops to just these days so that the family does not get overwhelmed with too much until they are able to find a more permanent place to live.
If you have items or gift cards to offer the Beaudoin Family, please message me or drop them at Magnolia Library during those times and they will be delivered directly to the family and any unused items would be donated to Second Glance Thrift Store. Thank you all so much for your support.
Also- a close friend of the family is setting up a GoFundMe and I will post that trusted link as soon as I have it.  If you have further questions, please contact and I will send information directly to Alana.  Donna@ardizzoniphotography.com
