Karen Pischke Represents! At the Cherry Blossom Festival In Japan
Hey Joey-
SAKURA is in full Bloom in Japan! A year ago my elderly mother wondered why
I had to go to Kyoto, Japan for Sakura (Cherry Blossom Festival,) since
‘D.C. has beautiful Cherry Blossoms.’ I told her, because D.C. does not have
my Reiki teacher, Inamoto Sensei. Despite the disaster in Japan, we
felt it important to continue our trip as planned in support of the Japanese
people. And Hyakuten assured us- "Kyoto is safe. You should come." And so,
3/30/11 we flew. One year ago today was our first full day in Kyoto! It
felt(and still feels!) surreal to be there. While there I also represented
GMG! You can find photos from this journey on Facebook Pages- Dreamtime
Wellness, Komyo Reiki Kai/New England and Komyo Reiki Kai Boston. And now,
Hyakuten will be coming to Boston/New England for the 1st time this October!
Hope you get a chance to meet him! Enjoy the photos. Note: Before the trip
and upon my return, we have organized fund raisers for Japan for continued
support at our monthly Reiki Clinic and Meditation Events. The gentleman in
the picture at the food stand kept saying- "Sank you. Sank you vely much."
The Japanese people we met were most grateful we were there, and Japanese
people still need our support! Thanks Joe! For all that you do! It ‘ripples
out’ to many!! Karen Pischke, Dreamtime Wellness

Buoy #2 up for bids!

In case you missed it yesterday, we’re starting the bidding on some of our artist buoys here over the next week so you get a preview of some of the great stuff you can see if you come to Cruiseport next week!
All the buoys from this year’s lobster trap tree will be auctioned off next Friday, the 27th at Cruiseport Gloucester as a fundraiser for Art Haven, including the ones featured here. But you can put your bids in now to get your name in the hat. Again, the details:
-If you like a buoy you see, bidding starts at $20, and you can just bid in the comments section below the post, HOWEVER
-Your bid doesn’t become official until you send Art Haven an email (arthaveninfo@gmail.com) saying you’re serious and letting us know how to get in contact with you.
-Finally, if you’re the highest bidder on the blog, that makes your bid the starting bid at the auction. We’ll be in touch about your max bid if you can’t make it to the auction.
If you’ve got any questions, leave ’em in the comments section. Also, check out the artist buoys on Art Haven’s Facebook page and tell us if there are particular buoys you’d like to see go up here. And remember, your money is helping more kids on Cape Ann have access to crazy fun art activities 🙂 Happy bidding!
Let the bidding begin!

Not sure if you’re going to be able to make it to Art Haven’s buoy auction on the 27th? Or just so excited that you want to start bidding now? Here’s your chance!
Hopefully you saw this beautiful buoy hanging on the Lobster Trap Tree this holiday season and we’re giving you a chance now to bid on this and 7 other buoys painted by local artists, which you’ll see posted over the next 7 days.
If you didn’t know, all the buoys that adorned this year’s beautiful tree (featured in the NYTimes, in case you missed it…) will be auctioned off next Friday, the 27th at Cruiseport Gloucester as a fundraiser for Art Haven, including the ones featured here. But you can put your bids in now to get your name in the hat. So here’s the deets:
-If you like a buoy you see, bidding starts at $20, and you can just bid in the comments section below the post, HOWEVER
-Your bid doesn’t become official until you send Art Haven an email (arthaveninfo@gmail.com) saying you’re serious and letting us know how to get in contact with you.

And in the meantime, check out all the artist buoys on Art Haven’s Facebook page and tell us if there are particular buoys you’d like to see go up here. And remember, your money is helping more kids on Cape Ann have access to crazy fun art activities 🙂 Happy bidding!

Bob Ryan Represents! in San Diego
Bob Ryan pictured here with Chris White of White Labs in San Diego, California, last week. Bob was part of a small group of 18 from around the country to be educated on the cutting edge work being done by yeast designers and propagators for the distilling industry.
Chris White, president of White Labs, holds a vast library of proprietary yeast for brewery, winery and distilling (and sour dough bread). Chris has also authored articles and books on the subject of yeast. Bob and Chris are standing in front of only a partial amount of the inventory of yeast vials White Labs handles. If you think Bob “Pasteur” Ryan could run on about distilling before, don’t get him started on yeast!

Dwight writes-
GMG was once again a witness to the sites and sounds of Europe, this time we are in Roma. A wonderful city, with warm people who send their love and affection to the folks on Cape Ann. Next on the agenda (tonight)…the closing ceremonies for the Barcelona (Spain, if in question) fire festival, aka: La Merce Festival. It features a fireworks and laser show. Monday, we head to Ibiza and then to Formentera.
As always, Dwight Hebert

Hi Joey!
The Mathews family are big fans of Good Morning Gloucester and our daughter Abbey who just Graduated from UMass Amherst this spring is spending a year in Florence Italy working on her Masters. Here she is "representing" at the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. She’s already missing the Fall here…so I’m sure she’ll be looking forward to the fall pictures on GMG!

GMG Visits Northern California
Hi, Joey,
Just back from a few days fishing tailwater Steelhead streams in Northern California.
Here’s a picture my wife took with my GMG bumper sticker at Lakes Berryessa Campground.
It was great to be able to log in to GMG while in Ca. Managed it seven of the ten days
out there. Great pictures and videos of the Schooner Races.
