Last GMG Rock Found!
Deb Clarkes “BIZAAR DAZE”
From Debbie Clarke;

Here’s Kerry McNally and her Mom in front of my work at the Bazaar. We were so busy I was lucky to get any pics at all. I thought the folk on goodmorning gloucester would enjoy seeing pics from a ‘sales person’s point of view’. There were so many peeps and every now and then, I got to see some of my friends (Loretta and Adara, my friends from Gloucester’s Unitarian Universalist Church).
I would like to thank the readers of gmg that came down to the bazaar to see my artwork, and search for Paul’s ‘rock art’. I know of one other family ‘team’ that printed out directions to locate your rocks. Many folk thought they were supposed to find the rock, have a picture taken to document the event, then move onto the next clue. This might be a future development of your ‘rock art’ project Paul.

also: I sold three paintings at the Bazaar! (thank you to Richard and Sabine for allowing me to use some of their bazaar ‘real estate’). This was the most financially succesful bazaar for me, as I have been putting my work on Bananas’ sidewalk for several years. Thanks to word of mouth and the shout out by goodmorninggloucester, lots of folk came to see bananas and my work! I generated sales inquiries, networked like crazy, sold a lot of vintage, and had a lot of fun! Thank you to the folk that volunteered on behalf of the Chamber to organize the event.

BANANAS, ROCK!!!!! Breaking News Update!
Drats! I’ve Been Out smarted again.
The clues I gave must’ve been too easy.
I think it was the Banana Splits TV Show Theme Song that Gave it away.
Here’s The photo of Kerry, and Her Mom, Karen McNally After Winning the “Bazaar Art Rock Contest”.
They are the Winners of a ROCK! An “ART, ROCKS!” Rock.
They Figured out all the clues and Found their way to the Vintage Clothing Store “Bananas” to claim their Prize.
Here’s the Emails I received from Kerry and Her Mom Karen;
Hi Mr. Frontiero,
I would like to let you know that I found your awesome rock at Bananas!
My mom and I are very excited!!!!
I love painting, and I have been collecting art work from different states. I would love to add your rock to my art collection.
We walked around main street, this afternoon, telling your story of the painted rocks.
My mom had fun solving the riddle, and I couldn’t believe that I actually found one of your amazing rocks!
Thank you!
-Kerry McNally
From Karen; (Kerry’s Mom)
Your artwork, and how it was discovered, has been Kerry’s main topic of discussion with friends and family since Saturday.
The excitement of it’s find has not diminished, and I don’t think that it ever will!
Kerry says “Thank you for the great adventure”.
Thanks!
-Karen
I’m Humbled. Well Honored is probably a better word. 🙂
For my Rock to Be included in Kerrys Art Collection.
Thanks so much Kerry for the Inspiration!
Big Thanks go to my Friends at BANANAS for hosting the contest.
Thank you Richard and Debbie!

Artist Debbie Clarke works part time at Bananas Vintage Clothing, Assesories and just some great interesting Stuff Store. She will also Have some of her Artwork on display there during the Sidewalk Bazaar. While down there this weekend Check out Deb’s Art and the Bananas Store. Below is an example of Deb’s Art you will see.

Beacon Marine viewed from Rocky Neck. This is an oil painting of the view from our old apartment on Rocky Neck. The apartment was smaller than this one, but i sure got a lot of painting done in that space. My struggle was to get the color, activate the picture plane and make the ‘box’ of the building. The box is successful. It was a real struggle to understand the activity below the doc and putting the boats on the plane of the water. The painting is oil on canvas 24×30″. copyright Clarke 2007
(wow, seems like just yesterday)
best,
deb
inquiries about this painting and others always welcomed.
Schooner Spirit of Massachusetts Arrives
I went to Gloucester and all I got was a Rock
I Talked to Joey today. I had this great idea. Instead of leaving an “Art, Rock” someplace. I could use the GMG Petty cash to Hire a helicopter, fly over the Farmers Market and drop them on the shoppers below. He was’nt to thrilled with the idea. The guy’s a fart! It would’ve been AWESOME!
But Anyways,
Here’s the Hint; After 4am Look for a natural Shady place, not a tent, or a building. Easy Enough. If you find it and if you’d like. Take a picture of yourself with the Rock and we’ll feature you on GMG. Goodluck! Sorry all finds are Final no returns.
Rockport, Good Harbor, Rockport and Downtown will be this weekends Target.
Only GMG Readers get the Hints.
DO YOU WANNA ROCK!?
The rocks will be Flying Thursday to Sunday!
I4C2 More Art, Rocks!
THAT WAS YOUR FIRST HINT!
CHECK BACK TONIGHT FOR ANOTHER.

After a Short Stay the Harvey F. Gamage Leaves Gloucester.
It was hard to get Photos of the Harvey F. Gamage Schooner from Land during it’s stay in Gloucester last week due to the location where it was tied up. I caught it as it was leaving the Inner Harbor and Headed for Portland, ME. The Schooners White Hull and everything around it Glowed in the Setting Sun. Unfortunatley the Sun hid behind some clouds before the Schooner made it to the Paint Factory. That would’ve been a great Photo.

Art Rocks! Looks Like it found a Great Home!
First of all; I usually don’t think things through too much. I just do it and deal with the fallout later. Such as some of my Posts here on GMG. 🙂
Sometimes I’ll Complain to Joey that I have nothing left to offer that’s interesting to the GMG Readers. Joey will say a few inspiring words. Words that I can’t repeat here at the moment. Maybe another Time. But, he does motivate me.
I came up with the idea of these “Art Rocks” When I heard the song by the band The Police, “Message in a Bottle” When I was down at Pebble Beach Sketching. So I sketched a few rocks with my Sharpie and left them for someone to find. I didn’t think of it until I received emails saying they found my “Art Rock” and loved the idea. So I did a few more and left them at Cressy Beach. When I was back there a few days later the Rocks were gone but I never received any emails. I wrote Joey an email saying the “Art Rocks” are Bust! He didn’t think so, he said just keep trying. So I figured I try one at the State Fish Pier. The response really moved me. When I think “Why do I keep doing this GMG thing it takes up a lot of my time and Brain Power. Ok, no wise ass remarks on that last one please. Now I Know why. GMG has a lot of Positive effect on people and myself. I’m just glad I could contribute a little with this “Art Rocks” thing. THANKS! GMG, JOEY and of course DEBBIE CLARKE for all of her Encouragement and Inspiration.
OK, ON WITH THE POST.
“Art, Rocks!”
I left an “Art Rock” at the State Fish Pier (my favorite hang out) Saturday Morning.
here’s the link to that Post: Paint Factory “Art Rock” click here
I Love viewing the Paint Factory and the going ons there during the rising and setting sun. The Area Glows with Light at those times. I decided to draw the Paint Factory on a Rock and leave it there for someone to find. You never know who will find it. I left my email address on it so the person who found it could contact me.
I’d like to share the emails with you that I received from the person who found it.
First Email From Debbie;
Was in Gloucester today. Found your rock at State Pier around 12:30 not sure what your game is please tell me if I was supposed too turn it in somewhere.

My reply back To Debbie;
Hi, Debbie,
Thanks for contacting me.
it’s no game. Sorry you didn’t win anything other than a rock. 🙂 Keep it if you like it. I paint and draw a lot. When the mood hits I’ll draw a scene of where i am and leave the rock for someone to find. A FREE SOUVENIR.
Hope you like it. I also write for a popular website here in Gloucester, Ma. called Good Morning Gloucester. It’s a site about what’s happening here and beautiful photos of the area. If you’d like you could send me a picture of you and whoever else was with you and how came across the rock and I’d post it up on that site. It’s up to you, But I hope you liked my Rock. Here’s a link to the post I put up after I left my rock art there.

The Last Email From Debbie;
I think this is the best game, hide and seek! With an awesome prize. It is the best souvenir I have gotten.
I went up there with my friends Greg and Anita Dziedzic and Jim Gularte. Anita lost her son in Iraq on 8/1/05, Sgt. David Coullard, he was a Marine Sniper and my friend. Jim is a sniper instructor at Camp Pendleton who has reached out to Anita. We all went to see Gloucester a favorite get-a-way of Anita’s to try to help her through this emotional weekend. It really brightened her day when I found the rock. Thank you for sharing your art with us.
Debbie, South Windsor, CT
I really don’t know what to write after that email.
Other Than, Thank you Debbie, you made my Summer.

Who Loves Ya, Baby? A Good Kind of Rant
All this just to share a quote
After Reading GMG the last few weeks. It got me to realize what kind of person this “Blogger extraordinaire” Joey is. I’ll always say he’s a pain in the Ass. But he’s more than that. It’s hard for me to find the right words. I’m not a writer so I have no Idea why he ever asked me to be a GMG Author. I’m just a Ball Buster. I can’t help myself. Joey has censored some of my Posts and comments to save me from myself, and the GMG readers. Someday I may thank him for that.
BUT! I do love the Guy. His passion for this GMG Thing is unstoppable. I’ve been asked a few times how much Joey makes off of GMG.
When I tell them “NOTHING” They’ll either respond with; “Why Bother” or “That’s a lot of work for nothing”. For Joey it’s not Work, or I think a “bother” at all to the Guy. Look what he’s been doing the last few months on these Pages. The content has been unbelievably Entertaining, Fast Paced and sometimes Touching.
I want to thank Joey for including me in this Thing. I’ve met a lot of great people here; “Fellow GMG Authors” and Artists. He’s also taught me how to present my ideas without pissing off too many people. Joey has put up with a lot of my crap the past seven months, but he kinda asked for it when he signed me up. I thought of this after I texted him today, I could picture him Cringe when he read it. I could’nt stop laughing to myself after I got his reply. I had some great laughs at Joey’s, Sharon’s, Mr. Morrisons and my own expense. I wouldn’t Trade that for anything.
All that just to Share a Quote and a Question I always ask myself. First the Quote. I thought of Joey when I read this;
Today is life-the only life you are sure of. Make the most of today. Get interested in something. Shake yourself awake. Develop a hobby. Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Live today with gusto.
— Dale Carnegie
Now the question;
