The Sargent House Museum would like to invite people to tour Judith Sargent Murray’s writing closet this coming Saturday at 11am and 2pm. It’s one of only four remaining in the U.S. and the place where she wrote some of her most important work. We are interested in the thoughts and questions that people have about the space. The Musuem has a small grant to develop an interactive exhibit focused on the writing closet and Judith Sargent Murray. Thanks to this post, I learned about this incredible opportunity and attended today’s morning session.
What a jewel this museum is and I LOVE the fact that it is undergoing a shift: going from a house of beautiful things (which is important too) to a house that tells the story of Gloucester’s own Judith Sargent Murray, whose message speaks to us across the centuries in a powerful and relevant way.
Her Writing Closet (one of only 4 remaining today) is an inspiring message for us to take time to connect with our thoughts and emotions.
