Coast Guard To Assist Disabled Gloucester Offshore Lobster Boat Michael and Kristen

Coast Guard responds to disabled vessel 145 miles off of Chatham
CHATHAM, Mass. – The Coast Guard cutter Legare is en route the fishing vessel Michael & Kristen 145 miles Southeast of Chatham, Mass., Oct. 5, 2010.
The Michael & Kristen, a 77-foot vessel with five people aboard, notified the Coast Guard Oct. 4 at 4:30 p.m. that it was disabled.
Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England received the initial notification and issued a marine assistance request broadcast. The Coast Guard cutter Legare was sent to respond to the vessel because there was no answer to the request for assistance.
The cutter is expected to be on scene around 9 a.m.
Legare is a 270-foot medium endurance cutter homeported in Portsmouth, Va.

  2. Glad the guy’s made it in ok . when I fished on that boat it was full of good guys and all hard workers, and the owner Charlie is a good man who takes great care of his boat never skimping a penny to keep the boat up and his men safe . hats off the to coast guard …
