Hello all! It’s been a long Winter.. For me, my kitchen and basement flooded so I decided while construction was being done, it was time to find something good from something bad. I took my paints, my brushes and my canvas’ and I escaped to the ocean, my place of peace. I could paint any time with no distraction, watching the sunrise. Tides coming in and out, listening to the waves crash on the rocks while watching the water trickle down back into the ocean. I sat there all day painting into the sun setting over the Twin Lights. As a result I was able to hang 54 of my paintings, many of which were done in Rockport, MA during my 3 month stay. My artwork is on display at 4 Centennial Drive in Peabody through April 24th. I will be live painting this Thursday from 4-6, Saturday April 17th from 3-7, and Thursday April 22nd from 4-6. If anyone is interested in coming and checking it out I would love to have you.

Cape Ann just became more climate resistant (and beautiful!) thanks to our local climate hero Nathan Ives. On Friday April 9, 2021, Nathan Ives and his Project Elm team received and began planting 100 disease-resistant elm trees in Rockport and Gloucester.
It is a grassroots community project intending to help restore elm trees to their once prominent place on Gloucester and Rockport streetscapes while taking a proactive step to help reverse global climate change (trees capture carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas, out of the air and store the carbon in their trunk. CO2 and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are driving climate change.) The project is inspired by the World Economic Forum’s 1-trillion tree initiative.

Does this look familiar? I love this particular room and lots else about this establishment!
It’s been too long since we’ve been to Willow Rest on Holly Street. This was proven by the outstanding lunch we had with some of the GMG gang a few days ago. Three of us had the Cuban (HUGE and delicious); one Rotary sandwich (turkey, cheese and yummy stuff) and one Under the Bridge (crab cake, bacon and yummy stuff) . It is also a specialty variety store full of crafts and healthy food items. There are also prepared foods available for take out. There are picnic tables set up outside and distanced indoor seating. It was hopping with take out orders the day we were there. Everyone is appropriately masked and following protocols. Thank you for taking good care of us Ben.
