Peter, what would it take for the City to just provide a few trash buckets at the beaches for the convenience of residents and visitors, because many visitors do not know or are not willing to take their dog waste. . From your e mail it seems DPW is picking up the trash anyway and this would all but eliminate a lot of the mess collecting near the beach entrances and in the barbecue pits at Stage Fort, etc. This child like tug of war between the City and the dog people goes on and on. Please remember that Gloucester dog owners are tax payers, too. “Carry in, Carry out” obviously doesn’t work. It’s time to take it to the next step and get it solved once and for all.

Do you have any idea how many pos locals AND out of towners would dump their crap next to or around a city provided trash barrel? There would be an insane amount of illegal dumping there because there are way too many scumbags that would use the city provided trash barrel to empty their household trash instead of buying purple trash bags.
