Sure is a pretty tugboat and loved seeing the Roderick McAllister in Gloucester Harbor during Schooner Festival. On my way into Cambridge to do an installation last Thursday and there it was docked in Boston Harbor, looking good from the Tobin Bridge vantage point.

Whale’s Jaw, Dogtown. Collection of the Cape Ann Museum Library & Archives.
Dogtown Days is a celebration of the art, history, archaeology, geology, ecology and mystery of Dogtown, from the remains of its colonial settlement to its treasures along the trails through the watershed land and glacial heaths that lie at the heart of Cape Ann. Its 3,000 acres serve as the inspiration for Saturday’s panelists: Mark Carlotto, Mary Ellen Lepionka, Ed Becker, Chris Leahy, Ted Tarr, Noel Mann, Shep Abbott and Tom Halsted. Join these Friends of Dogtown as they explore the cellars of Dogtown, the Native Americans who lived there and the many insects and birds that call the habitats of Dogtown their home.
Following the Dogtown expert panel discussion, the Friends of Dogtown invite all audience members to join them for a reception with cake and ale in the Friend Room at the Sawyer Free Library nearby.

Promoting Optimal Wellness for Body, Mind & Spirit
Tuesday. October 6th. ‘Community Reiki Share’ in Manchester-by-the-Sea.
Join us in Supporting the Kangemi Charity and Children of Nairobi, Kenya. Having just returned from a sabbatical in Africa, it seems appropriate that this month’s Reiki Share is donating proceeds to an African charity. All are welcomed to attend to enjoy a Reiki Session while supporting this worthy cause!
This month’s choice of charities was inspired by Advanced Western and Japanese Reiki Practitioner (Komyo Okuden/3rd Degree) and FOB Suzanne Sweeney, owner of Energize Body and Mind here in Gloucester. Suzanne’s mother-in-law Prafulla Ganatraa, coordinates the Kangemi Charity in Kenya, helping to feed, clothe and educate children in an impoverished area of Nairobi.

HOLY FAMILY WOMEN’S GUILD FASHION SHOW
You’ve heard of Fashion Week in Milan, Paris and New York. The models who are 6′ tall and take a size 0 are just beautiful. However, join us on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at OUR LADY OF GOOD VOYAGE HALL and see what real women who take real sizes wear. We might not be as tall or quite as young but we are just as beautiful and we can still work the fashion runway. The fashions will be from Dress Barn in Beverly and Marshall’s in Gloucester. Join us for a night of fun, fashion, refreshments, fellowship and more. The donation will be $10.00. Looking forward to seeing you there. Bring a friend.
