GMG continues to crush it thanks to all the great photos, posts and comments. Is there a way to show the top 10 places where viewers are from in a given month, week or day? I know you’ve showed the snapshot map before of who’s looking at that moment, but not over a defined period. i think it’s really interesting how many people love the blog from outside Cape Ann. Keep up the great work.

Good question John and as Joey points out, WordPress is great about a lot of stuff but how they do stats is awful. Their data collection misses a lot of stuff and we’re not even talking about the thousands of hits that are not registered because people read their email subscription then do not click through. But for a snapshot of where GMG readers come from I did do a country of origin of people who click through into individual stories and read the comments. That list looks like this clipping off the last dozen countries with one hit:
