Thank you Paul! turned out better than i expected. it was quite a struggle to get to this simple solution.
Thank you mawmaw and Lisa! my daughter Elizabeth suggested that the buoy be painted to give it a bit of finish. i think she was right. the white gesso was kind of raw and cold.
