  1. Cape Pond Ice Company is open for business to meet the ice needs of the Gloucester community – restaurants, homeowners, fishing vessels and processors. Packaged ice inventories – 5 # bags, 25 # bags & 30 # bags – have been imported from Eastern Ice Company in Fall River and Laconia Ice Company in Laconia NH to meet Gloucester’s needs. Safe Block Ice inventories in our factory, from water taken in June and July, before our August 15 water problem, are available to provide ice for fishing vessels and fish processors. We do look forward to this Gloucester water crisis being resolved, and getting back to normal operating conditions.
