  1. Wow! Great shot Joey of a beautiful family. I can’t remember their names, but they walk by my shop on Rocky Neck and everytime I see them I smile. So much love, so much dovotion. We’re blessed to see families, mothers with children, truly enjoying each other, taking time to breathe and just be.

    Thanks for sharing the love!

  2. That beautiful family is Mandy Davis, and her daughters Pilar and Frida. Daddy Geoff has a tent right down by you, Joey, where he’s re-building a 40 foot wooden schooner named Strombus (behind Maudline’s). You should check it out. It’s beautiful!

  4. I was about to interview Erik Lorden at Passports when I saw this scene unfolding and fumbled to quickly snap the shot before the the moment was lost. Thankfully it was framed perfectly just by luck.

  5. What a portrait of the modern mother…hip, attractive, productive and loving. You know, I was just thinking about todays mothers, how they are able to do it ALL! Career, kids, friendships, fashion, boat-building…OY!
This Gloucester mom seems to be doing it all with grace……great shot!

  6. It’s so nice to hear all of these very kind words. We have had a lot of new challenges lately with the new baby in the family, and it has been a bit harder to be a patient mommy to Pilar (the tree climber). This has been sweet to share a snapshot of our life with Gloucester – thanks Joey.
