A low flying helicopter overhead prompted Charlotte and I to head to the Harbor this morning. A fishing captain we met suggested it was a Wicked Tuna film crew, but I don’t recognize the boat Kraken from the show. By the time we got there, a dense fog bank was rolling in and filming quickly ended. If any of our readers know more, please write. Thank you 🙂
What is a Kraken I wondered? From wiki: The Kraken is a legendary cephalodpod-like sea monster of giant size in Scandinavian folklore. According to the Norse sagas, the Kraken dwells off the coast of Norway and Greenland and terrorizes nearby sailors. Authors over the years have postulated that the legend may have originated from sightings of giant squids that may grow 13-15 meters (40 to 50 feet) in length. Read more here.

What a beautiful day Sunday was. Rick and I went kayaking around Gloucester Harbor and had our lunch on Ten Pound Island, we visited Joey on the dock, Wicked Tuna being filmed and paddle through the west wind and choppy ocean. It was fantastic. Also we saw the barge that took down the Magnolia Pier.
Again we are so lucky.

When the season finale and the 100th episode of Wicked Tuna happen to fall on the same day, National Geographic throws a party! Possibly they planned it that way. Who could blame them.
We were super excited to be invited down to Bass Pro Shops at Patriot Place last night to attend National Geographic’s viewing party of the 100th episode and to be in attendance to see who was named winner of this past season. Congratulations, by the way, to Tyler McLaughlin and his crew on the Pinwheel.

After yesterday taking a group of 70 veterans and their invited guests on a fishing trip aboard Captain Tom Orrell’s Yankee Freedom, Captain Dave and Nancy went fishing today with a ship full of local fishermen and fans.
No greater fan than Michael, who was waiting far ahead of the scheduled departure for an autograph from Captain Dave. Autograph in hand, just look at that ear to ear grin!
Under Wraps! Wicked Pissah and all of her friends look awfully cold under their winter shrink wrap. I think “Sweet Dreams” may be dreaming of calm seas and warmer days!
How many days until summer?
