My friend Nancy loves Snowies and especially Hedwig’s story. She drove over from Beverly this morning to see if she could see Hedwig and yes, there she was once again, perched on one of her favorite lookouts, the railing of the Ocean House Hotel at Bass Rocks.
After yesterday taking a group of 70 veterans and their invited guests on a fishing trip aboard Captain Tom Orrell’s Yankee Freedom, Captain Dave and Nancy went fishing today with a ship full of local fishermen and fans.
No greater fan than Michael, who was waiting far ahead of the scheduled departure for an autograph from Captain Dave. Autograph in hand, just look at that ear to ear grin!
You can read more about Captain Dave’s efforts on behalf of Wounded Warriors in a previous post: Wounded Warriors with Captain Dave and Nancy Marciano Aboard the Yankee Fleet Celebrate Fourth of July
In honor of our American military veterans and Independence Day, Wicked Tuna’s Captain Dave and Nancy Marciano are hosting a group of veterans aboard the Yankee Freedom. Captain Dave first began working with the Wounded Warrior Project about four years ago. He usually treats small groups throughout the season but his year has been incredibly busy for the Marciano’s and he needed a larger boat to bring out a larger group of vets.
Captain Dave naturally turned to Captain Tom Orrell, from where he began his fishing career. Capt. Orrell owns and operates Yankee Fleet Fishing. Orrell was all on board with the idea and has donated his largest ship, the Yankee Freedom. Jim Destino donated lunch and Mayor Romeo Theken and the City helped organize gift bags.
Thanks to Nancy Marciano for the invitation to stop by and take photos of her husband Captain Dave Marciano. He is being featured in a sponsored promo for the worldwide hit TV show Wicked Tuna (and NatGeos most popular). Captain Dave and filming crew could not have been more terrific. A weather-perfect morning, Gloucester Harbor looked exquisite in the early morning light.
