Art Rock Found! Coincidence?

Last Sunday while driving around the Back Shore I decided to stop at the Elks club Parking lot andĀ Sketch the scene before me on a Rock. Yeah, I know I’m Nuts.

I left it across the street from the Elks Club in the rocks where the Hotel has a sitting area.

I didn’t know my Son was going to bringĀ his friends to the Elks Club to reserve it for their Wedding next year. I posted the Rock I sketched on here on GMG about 11am. I got a phoneĀ call at 2:30pmĀ  from my son Paul the III telling me they found it. They thought my Son set it up, but he had no idea what I did that morning and I had no idea what he was going to do that day. (Strange ain’t it?)Ā after they reserved the Elks club they walked down the road to where I left the “Art Rock”

Here is the email my son sent me;

Hey Dad, Heres the Picture of them holding the rock. They found it when they walked across from the elks to see where their wedding pictures will be taken. We were all standing around it and tom said “that rock has your name on it” Everyone thought my son Paul set it up. But he did’nt know anything about it. Now that’s a Coincidence! Tom and Joselin areĀ getting married at Good Harbor Beach on labor day 2011Ā and having the reception at the elks.
Here’s a photo of Tom and his Fiance holding the ROCK. Good Luck Guys!! I hope you enjoy the Rock!

I let one loose today!Ā  I mean an “Art, Rock!”

Here are two photo clues.

The Sketchbook Project: My First Entry 10/10/10

Ok, What better day than 10/10/10 to make my first entry into my Sketchbook Project. I picked my favorite place to sit and watch the waterfront work, Nature change by the minute and meditate. This is the view looking straight out from my parking space today.Ā Ā I may add some color to it with Gouache paint. Ā After the Sun went down I walked around and took some photos for GMG of the area at nighttime.

Art Rock Found By Eurodam Cruiser- On It’s Way To San Diego

Bonnie Writes-

Hello:  I found your art rock on Friday the 24th around 2:30 pm. I was heading toward the cruiseport in order to board my tender for the Eurodam when I noticed your rock leaning against the bottom of the granite boulder in the cruiseport sign area in Gloucester.  I was so surprised to find it and chuckled when I turned the rock over and noticed the contact information. I was visiting your city as part of my package. I live in San Diego and am a jogger/walker always on the look out for treasures. I also found a nice purse flashlight while I was out walking to add to my list.

I also dabble in art and would like to refer you to a website you might find interesting called atcsforall.com  The members trade original artists cards the size of a baseball card throughout the world.

Thanks for  helping to make my trip fun and interesting. It’s always fun to have a unique story to tell.

There’s a New Blog in Town!

There’s a New Blog in Town!

Don’t worry Joey, GMG has nothing to worry about. Even though I will be posting some Great Stuff!Ā This Blog will be following the progress of Six Artists participating in the “Sketchbook Project” all of us either live here in Gloucester or have Ties here.Ā  Deb Clarke can explain it better. Check it out below.Ā Ā Ā

From Deb Clarke;

“Hello,

We are 6 intrepid sketchbookers with a common love of gloucester massachusetts that have decided to participate with 17,000+ other sketchbookers in “The Sketchbook Project”. This began with Elizabeth Bollenberg asking me (deb clarke, her mom) to get her a sketchbook so that she could participate in the project. I ordered a sketchbook for her and one for me. My goodmorninggloucester friend and student Paul Frontiero ordered one. Then my friend, co-worker, and goodmorninggloucester friend Sabine Ocker ordered one. Then my friend, now living in Palm Springs and goodmorninggloucester friend Helen Anne Lind ordered one.

my personal approach…i’m going to start posting regularly on it after i deliver eb’s sketchbook to her tomorrow. i have some fun ideas, and of course, since i am an artist and am used to stretching into unknown territory, i’m going to dive in, dive down deep, then re-surface. whatever i do, i trust it will be full of surprises, with unexpected consequences.

at least this is one art object that i won’t have to store and take care of after it leaves my hands.

怀

We invite you to follow our progress towards the successful completion of our sketchbooks.

Anyone can participate, you don’t have to be an artist! If you would like to participate in the sketchbook project too, click the sketchbook project link. If you would like to share your sketchbook work for The Brooklyn Art Library’s traveling ā€˜Sketchbook Project”, we would be pleased to see your work and perhaps share your progress on our Blog; http://somethingsketchy.wordpress.com/Ā and here on GMG too.”
