You must have a ton of these by now, but I did post this one on my twitter, saying if you didn’t go to Gloucester today, this is what you missed!  I had a great day in Gtown.  Went to Rocky Neck and saw EJ, bought olive oil and balsamic vinegar from Cape Ann Olive Oil Co., had lunch at Lobstaland.  It is sooo wonderful to play tourist in the hometown.  How much did these ocean travelers pay to get to Gloucester?  Genie

Holland America Cruise Ship Eurodam Coming to Cruiseport Sunday, September 16

Peter Webber writes-

Good day. I am writing today to remind everyone that the next major cruise ship of the season will be arriving in Gloucester Harbor on this coming Sunday, September 16: Holland America’s cruise ship the ms Eurodam, with a capacity of 2104 passengers. Once again the Chamber will be working together with the city of Gloucester’s volunteer welcoming committee and CATA to welcome and guide Eurodam’s passengers as they disembark and arrive at the Cruiseport terminal. The first tenders carrying passengers from the ship are expected to arrive at Cruiseport at approximately 9:00 am Sunday.  Many will board motor coaches for planned excursions to various locations, while many others will be guided to CATA trolleys and buses for transportation to downtown Gloucester and Rockport.

Please note the attached “Welcome Eurodam Passengers” flyer, which we encourage you to print and post at your place of business to help give the Eurodam passengers a hearty Cape Ann welcome.  I have also attached a flyer featuring several upcoming Chamber and community events scheduled for September and October, including next Tuesday’s (September 18) sales seminar with author Marc Wayshak at the Elks at Bass Rocks, beginning with check-in at 7:30 am.  Please contact the Chamber today to reserve your place.  Best regards. Peter

Cindy Hendrickson Stops By The Dock With a Eurodam Tour From Israel

DSC00540Hey Joey,

Wow – what a great time we had at Joey C’s and Sons this morning.  My 18 passengers from the Eurodam came all the way to Gloucester from Israel and actually got to hold lobsters and be photographed with them!  They were good sports and loved walking everywhere; I promised to send them a copy of "The Perfect Storm" as only one person had heard of the movie.  I agree with Scott from Top Dog in Rockport.  He said, "Geez, they sound like they are speaking in French".  It was such a special treat to have them see a "real" lobster operation up close and personal and I thank you so very much for all that you do to make us proud to be from Gloucester.

You’re the Best-Not like all the Rest!

Eurodam Video and Rick Represents

at the State Fish Pier. 09/12/2011

I met Rick a Big fan of GMG At The State Fish Pier. He enjoys checking it out everyday to see what’s going on here on our Island Paradise. He thought the Sunday Mug Ups were by invitation only. I told him and any Fan like him can come down Sunday Mornings at 10am and get some Coffee and some great food. No obligation to buy anything at all. Rick seems like a great guy and I look forward to talking to him again.

Here’s a photo of Rick Representin’ and The Eurodam video I took today. Rick also is my color commentary on the last part of this video when you see the shuttle boat arriving at the CruisePort.

Here’s Rick:

Cruiseport Welcomes Eurodam Passengers Photos from Donna Ardizzoni

It seems like with every new Cruise Ship that comes into port that more and more passengers are opting to stay in Gloucester.  That is a really good thing.

Thanks to all the volunteers like our Donna Ardizzoni and the people from the Visitors center that volunteer their time to help out at the scene.
