Do you have a digital camera and need to learn how to use it? Do you already use your camera but want to know how to take better pictures? The Sawyer Free Library is pleased to offer a digital photography basics class with professional award-winning photographer SKIP MONTELLO on Saturday, April 17, from 2-4 pm.  The virtual presentation is free and open to all. During the presentation, Skip will introduce the different camera controls and what they do. He will share his knowledge of digital photography basics, including equipment, components of light exposure, elements of composition, and more.

Skip Montello is a photographer working and living in Rockport, Massachusetts. He is an exhibiting member of the Rocky Neck Art Colony, Rocky Neck Gallery, Rockport Art Association, Newburyport Art Association, and the Griffin Museum of Photography.

This beautiful example of a barn along the byway can be viewed along route 133 near the old Candlewood golf course in Ispwisch. I think it misses the company of the golfers!

Saturday Clean Up with The One Hour at a Time Gang

On Saturday we will be cleaning up Route 133, Essex Avenue,  Gloucester, MA  01930

Time:          08:30 am- 09:30 am

When:       Saturday, April 17, 2021

Where:       Essex Avenue, we can park on Stacy Boulevard, my truck will have the yellow bags, etc.

We can carefully walk down 133 and clean up the trash.

Please practicing social distancing and wear your mask.  I will have gloves and yellow bags.

Hello all! It’s been a long Winter.. For me, my kitchen and basement flooded so I decided while construction was being done, it was time to find something good from something bad. I took my paints, my brushes and my canvas’ and I escaped to the ocean, my place of peace. I could paint any time with no distraction, watching the sunrise. Tides coming in and out, listening to the waves crash on the rocks while watching the water trickle down back into the ocean. I sat there all day painting into the sun setting over the Twin Lights. As a result I was able to hang 54 of my paintings, many of which were done in Rockport, MA during my 3 month stay. My artwork is on display at 4 Centennial Drive in Peabody through April 24th. I will be live painting this Thursday from 4-6, Saturday April 17th from 3-7, and Thursday April 22nd from 4-6. If anyone is interested in coming and checking it out I would love to have you.
