Hello,
My name is John Gilbert Amero and I am the Great Grandson of Dennis Amero who was lost at sea while on the dragger Superior: http://www.downtosea.com/1926-1950/superior.htm
It seems The Higgins Family may have owned Superior. Dennis daughter Lena was married to George Higgins.
I have one image of Superior, and one image of my Great Grandfather Dennis Amero, from his Naturalization paper work. I was wondering if The Higgins Family has any images of the crew of Superior from years ago that might have Dennis also as the cook.
Thank you. – John Gilbert Amero
p.s. Dennis son John H Amero, my Grandfather, was also was lost at sea during a fishing trip in 1958. Both Great Grandfather and Grandfather lost to her rolling swells.
My Grandfathers wife and his son were cremated, her first in 1999 and then him in 2003. Two trips to the location he fell overboard and was lost. Two burials at sea to reunite the family.
My Grandmother and my Dad never really recovered from the loss of a husband and a father. Parents are not only here to protect their children. Parents need to make sure they are protected too so there is no loss of a Parent.
