May be onto something here indeed! It always get me when I walk the mountains this way folks will carry a full bottle 16.9 oz in but when they drink it all and it’s lighter can be crushed down to nothing even put in pocket or carried in hand they toss it along pathway or in the bushes four someone else like me too pick up after them. which I do most but not all times as there is just too many for my back pack…
Availability of areas to dispose of also needs some attention but like computer operations it the end user responsibility to protect and do there part.
“Iron Eyes Cody was most famous for his “crying Indian” role in the “Keep America Beautiful” Public Service Announcement (PSA) in the early 1970s. It was an ecology commercial in which an Indian (Cody) sheds a tear after some trash is thrown from a speeding car and lands at his feet. The announcer, William Conrad, of Bullwinkle and Cannon fame, memorably declares: “People start pollution; people can stop it.”
