Hi Joe,
Not sure if this qualifies for a “human interest story” for the blog, but it’s kind of amazing that this little boat survived the 80 +miles between Casco bay and Coffins beach!
File this under it is a very small world….
My son and daughter-in-law were here for the weekend so we went for a walk on the beach by our house. Came on this boat which had washed ashore. The owner had his phone number on the boat so my son called him to say we found his boat on Coffins Beach in Gloucester. He is a 74 year old gentleman, lost the boat in a blow last summer in Casco Bay, Maine, and just happens to live down the street from them in Topsham, Maine! They are coming back for Christmas with my son’s truck and will bring the boat back for their new friend!

I’ve seen boats wash up in Diamond Cove after blowing across Ipswich Bay from Ipswich.

It is amazing that both parties involved lived so near each other! Talk about coincidence!
I love this story.
