An Offer To All #GloucesterMA Election Candidates:
As you all know we don’t take political stances here or endorse candidates but what I’d like to offer is an invitation for any candidate that is running for office in Gloucester to submit a video explaining why they think they are best suited for the position they are running for. The easiest way to do this would be to upload the video to YouTube.
The videos will be released once and placed on GMG at 7PM on the following night that they are received. If more than one video is submitted to me at firstname.lastname@example.org then the first one that is submitted will be aired the following evening at 7PM and the next one submitted will be posted the following evening at 7PM. There will be a link in each candidates post containing their video to email@example.com which will have all previously submitted candidate’s videos.
Once they are submitted they will be added to https://2015gloucestermaelection.wordpress.com/ where all the videos will be available for viewing at any time on the same page.
In the title of the video it should list the candidate’s name- position they are running for and the words “GMG submission”.
As always the GMG politics disclaimer- any post on these pages containing a candidate does not imply an endorsement for any candidate. Comments on www.goodmorninggloucester.com for these video submissions on the blog will be turned off for these posts as well.
Hopefully this will serve to help candidates get their message across.
Good luck and thank you to all that participate in the process for the love of Gloucester and making it better.
My husband Tom’s latest Kevin Lone thriller, Roses for the Reaper, is available on Amazon!
When the world’s most powerful criminal organization plots to take over the global energy market, only agent Kevin Lone stands in their way. His international pursuit of the Skull Group and their deadly agents leads to a final showdown on a missile-laden submarine. Far beneath the waves of the Pacific Ocean, the fate of Kevin Lone and his implacable foe Regis Bank will be decided while the clock ticks. This genre-bending thriller combines multiple narratives to create tension and excitement from the first page to the last.
The schooner HIGHLANDER SEA launched in 1924 in Essex has had an interesting and varied history. For the past several years she has remained covered in her berth at Gloucester Marine Railways. Recently the covers have been removed and we can get a better look at this 121 foot vessel which has had several major refits in recent years.

I thought I’d share a couple of pics I got of a crow in my front yard in Rockport. A rare leucistic condition that occurs in many different species of animals. Just the head and tip of the left wing are affected.
Love your page!
I kid, seriously. Even after seeing the big construction sign that screams “NEW STOP SIGN AHEAD” I almost forget to stop. Rockport’s new Stop sign is in a spot where most conscientious drivers would come to a near-stop (or at least a serious slow-down) anyway, but it will definitely take some time to get used to.
Big happenings in town.
The High Street Ladies will hold a show and sale of their artwork at the Hall-Haskell House, 36 South Main Street, Ipswich. An opening reception with light refreshments will be held on Friday, September 25 from 5-8PM. Saturday and Sunday show hours are 12–4PM.
The High Street Ladies are Cara Connors, Marion Frost, and Sarah Winderlin, next-door neighbors and artists who together have shown their watercolors, photography and mixed-media art for the past 10 years. A sampling of their work is on the attached flyer.
We hope to see you there!
CAPE ANN SYMPHONY
THE 64th SEASON: A SEASON TO REMEMBER
Yoichi Udagawa, Music Director
The sultry concert program for the Symphonic Spectacular concert features passionate masterpieces including Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition,George Gershwin’s An American in Paris and Maurice Ravel’s Boléro. Members of the orchestra are featured in the classic works. Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition is a tour de force as orchestrated by Bolero composer Maurice Ravel. Mussorgsky originally composed Pictures for piano only and wrote the piece in memory of his close friend and artist Victor Hartmann who died suddenly at the age of 39. An exhibition of more than 400 of Hartmann’s works was mounted in the Academy of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg which Mussorgsky attended. Pictures at an Exhibition evokes a person strolling through the exhibit and stopping along the way to contemplate the various paintings and drawings on view.

This is Dave Asaro’s daughter Kristy, you had posted my coyote pics on GoodMorningGloucester this winter. I’m not sure if you had heard but my dad was in a horrible mountain bike accident in Arizona this Saturday. He fractured his cervical spine and is still in critical care and on a ventilator. He has some paralysis but we are still in the waiting game to see to what extent. If you know my dad he is a fighter and won’t stop until he’s back on his bike! His biking friends have started a fund to help with his extensive medical bills. If you could post the link to his GoFundMe page that would be a blessing. Not sure if you can post things like that or not but I figured I’d ask! He’s had such a outpouring of support already from people around town and I’m just trying to get the word spread as he’s going to have a long road ahead of him.
here is the link! We are also putting his latest health updates on there!
Thanks again Joe,
Kristy & all the Asaro family
I’m early this season — but early’s always better than late. Now you have plenty of time to plan your celebration for the Autumnal Equinox — coming to you on Wednesday, September 23rd at 4:21 am E.T.
Wishing you one to really hoot about!
