There was a stiff wind blowing across Gloucester Harbor on Monday evening when FAME, THOMAS E LANNON and ARDELLE raced in the annual Schooner Challenge. The racing rules were A)suspended, B) ignored or C) never known by any of the captains. Nevertheless, the exciting 2 hour run benefited the Essex Shipbuilding Museum.www.essexshipbuildingmuseum.org
Join us now aboard the Salem berthed FAME for the race and excitement

So much fun! We were so proud to sale with Captain Tom and his crew aboard the winning schooner, Thomas E. Lannon!
Saw a drone hovering overhead, while we were out there. Wondered if it was yours?
Mary you did again great day and the wind was up and blowing – I am sending to folks – “love the music for the journey” – mom was talking about the schooners when I called the other day and builders! Was that smoke for one of those little cannons I saw? Thanks for sharing this! 🙂 Dave & Kim 🙂
It was a big drone. I shot a close-up of it in the middle of my video, left it in as a joke. The mystery to me was, where was he or sho flying it from? We were way out in the Harbor.

Great job, Marty! Who did the drone belong to?

Thanks Barry.
I don’t know whose drone it was. I expected one of the usual suspects to come forward by now. Would love to see the footage.
