  1. Agree, these are seagull chasers. Utilities frequently use these, plus sticky goo and other stuff to deter birds — especially in big cities where there are large pigeon populations, and lack the redeeming qualities of our beautiful coastline in the background. Corrosion eats equipment, equipment is nice and warm – still it’s hard to get those pigeons to go somewhere else 🙂

  2. Seagulls, cormorants, ducks !!! The cormorants are the worst. The DPW should fill pot holes with the stuff.
    ( I just got back from cleaning the sailboat floats off the fish pier. Hilary Frye got us a battery pump that helps plus our mops and brooms and scrapers. )
