City of Gloucester to join in observance of “One Boston Day” on April 15, 2015. Moment of silence to be observed at 2:49 pm.

Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken has announced that the City of Gloucester will join with other cities and towns in the Commonwealth to observe One Boston Day.  City of Boston Mayor Martin Walsh plans to commemorate the 2 year anniversary of the tragic events surrounding the 117th Boston Marathon by observing a moment of silence at 2:49 pm on Wednesday, April 15th.

In keeping with Mayor Walsh’s vision of the day, Mayor Romeo Theken hopes that this will be a day to honor and remember those affected by the sad events and to celebrate the resiliency and strength of the people that make all of the communities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts great.

Mayor Romeo Theken requests that everyone in the City of Gloucester pause to pay homage to the victims and survivors with a moment of silence at 2:49 pm on Wednesday, April 15th.
