2013 Gloucester MA Lobster Trap Tree Being Built
Bex submits-
All the traps are on loan from local lobstermen.
Volunteers dedicate a weekend to building the tree.
Children paint buoys as “ornaments” to decorate the tree. Buoy Painting is December 14 and the Tree Lighting Ceremony is 4:30 – 5:00 on December 14.
When the tree comes down in January, the buoys are saved and auctioned off as a fundraiser for Cape Ann Art Haven on January 24th @ Gloucester Cruiseport.
Thank you to Awesome Gloucester for awarding Cape Ann Art Haven $1000 towards the Lobster Trap Tree and Buoy Painting Week!

Join Savour’s Open Chef’s Table Sunday, December 2nd ~ 3 Seats Remaining
I am just beyond thrilled to write that my husband and I have been invited to Kathleen’s and Chef Matt Beach’s Open Chef”s Table tomorrow night at Savour Wine and Cheese. There are three seats left at the table. Please come join us!!!
I have never had rabbit before and am so excited to try Chef Matt’s Rabbit Ragout. My husband and I both adore mushroom soup and I think my all time favorite desert is apple tart tatin. The wine pairings sound exquisite–I just hope I can stay not tipsy enough to photograph through desert! Monday I’ll post the photos (and perhaps more) from the dinner party!

Cape Ann Symphony Holiday Pops Concert and raising money for typhoon victims – Tonight Nov 30 & Dec 1
The Cape Ann Symphony is partnering with the Red Cross to raise funds to benefit those affected by the recent typhoon in the Philippines.
At its concerts Saturday and Sunday — which premiere “Yankee Swap!: White Elephant Gift Exchange,” by Gloucester composer Robert Bradshaw — there will be a real Yankee swap for the charity.
“When the idea of the Yankee swap came up, I thought, what better way to do this than to collaborate with an organization that could really use some help right now,” said David Stotzer, president of the symphony’s board. “I looked at all the devastation from the typhoon in the Philippines and thought of the Red Cross and the incredible relief efforts they provide worldwide. Their work is awe-inspiring and the Cape Ann Symphony is proud to offer our support.”
“The American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts is grateful to be the recipient of Cape Ann Symphony’s generosity,” said Frederica Doeringer, executive director of the chapter. “The Yankee Swap is a wonderful way to launch the symphony’s world premiere of “Yankee Swap” for orchestra by Robert J. Bradshaw and at the same time, reach across the world to help those devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.”
Performance: Saturday, November 30, 2013 8:00 P.M.
Performance: Sunday, December 1, 2013 2:00 P.M.
