This weekend the Millbrook Meadow Committee has planned a fun ceremony to recognize and celebrate the restoration of Rockport’s landmark Mill Dam. This has been a long process and the Committee has done and continues to do a fantastic job of bringing one of Rockport’s most historically and culturally significant places back to life. Plan on coming this Saturday if you can, and if you can’t, please spread the word about the opening ceremony:

Isn’t that interesting. Another Mill Dam Restoration. This is happening in my home town South Shields, Tyne and Wear where the whole area around the Dam and River (Tyne) is being smartened up! New flower beds, Old buildings demolished and new pathways to the North Shields Ferry Landing. In the same area has been built a BT Call Centre. It looks very impressive standing overlooking the River. Even the nearby Marketplace is being re-designed. Worth a visit!
