I'm Marty Luster, a retired attorney and politician. In 2010 my wife, mother-in-law, dog and I relocated from Central NY to Gloucester. I hope my photographs and poetry(?) reflect my love for this place and her people. I didn’t understand what Brigadoon was, although I had heard the word before. It’s a musical love story set in Scotland (mostly) and NYC, by Lerner and Lowe. In 1954 Brigadoon was released as an MGM musical feature, which is available as a DVD. It’s got a great plot, and your photo certainly evokes the mystical village in Scotland. Is this the real Brigadoon?

Even though I had heard the word Brigadoon many times, I wasn’t quite sure what it was. Brigadoon was musical by Lerner and Loewe. It opened on Broadway in 1947, and was made into an MGM movie in 1954. Your photo looks like the real Brigadoon, the magical village in Scotland. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigadoon

WordPress was acting strangely for my first comment (anonymous), and I didn’t think it went thru. I had to go back and reactivate my Avitar. What a pain!

No need to travel to Scotland. This is off Coolidge Point in Manchester-By-The-Sea.

The Annisquam Village Players performed Brigadoon several years ago. Over 100 hundred villagers participated–from the very young and to the very old–and it couldn’t have been more perfect for this theatre group tucked into a magical village–just like Brigadoon.

And then there are those of us old enough to get the reference and smile. Wonderful photo, Marty.

I believe this property is called Crow Island, between White and Black Beaches. Sure looks mythical to me.
