This is a painting we bought many years ago from Joy Biddle. I believe it was painted looking out of that house. The building across the street is Sailor Stan’s. It’s a shame that the building is now gone.

I think so too. The side of the building beyond the fence is Sailor Stan’s. When it was the Joan Kerry Gallery, the front yard was a jungle of flowers and grasses, which appear in the painting. Very creative garden, just like Joan.

All that interesting gingerbread, too bad that no one had a vision to restore it.

I remember that building it was always Whimsical looking. There were in Gloucester from the 50- 70 many homes and building that had that charm but it was fading then a period of slow change till new inspiration turned the city around to a bright clean and Proud City.
